CT NET: Section 20

The terrain on this trail section is moderately difficult with some long climbs. Steep ascents are rewarded with excellent views of the Metacomet Ridge, Heublein Tower, the Barndoor Hills, Manituck Mountain, Litchfield Hills and, at the base of the ridge, Old Newgate Prison. Chimney Point is one of several examples of the Metacomet basalt eroding into chimney-like spires along the cliff edge. Wildflowers, including wild columbine in the summer, grow along the trail.
