Description

This rugged loop leads to a series of outstanding ridge views. After passing a view of the Hart Ponds, the trail continues over the 761 foot summit of Ragged Mountain to bluffs with scenic westerly views over the Wassel Reservoir. These cliffs are a popular rock climbing area and you’re likely to see climbers in action. This is a difficult hike with rocky and rugged ascents and bare traprock ledges that can make this hike challenging. Other connector trails in the Preserve can be used to shorten the loop.
