Peak & West Suffield Mountains

There are excellent year-round views of Metacomet Ridge to the south and the Barndoor Hills to the west from Peak Mountain. Look for wildflowers, including wild columbine, along the trail in spring and summer. There is a lookout at the East Granby–Suffield town line marker. This is a moderate hike with a few steep ascents and switchbacks. Hikers can enjoy Chimney Point, an example of Metacomet basalt eroding into spires along the cliff edge.
