Section 07 is a challenging section of the trail which rises and falls over the seemingly endless succession of minor hills known as the “Seven Sisters” that make up the Mount Holyoke Range.
The restored Mount Holyoke Summit House hosts several picnic grounds, and is also accessible by car. The summit house is currently closed to the public during renovations, however guests can walk around the porch of the building for better views. There is a porta-potty available in the summer season.
The Mount Holyoke Outing Club owns and operates a fully enclosed cabin just off of Old Mountain Road. The cabin is available for public use. To reserve the cabin, visit the MHOC webpage. A DCR trail map of Mount Skinner and the Holyoke Range is available online.
Note: Beware, water is scarce on this ridge, bring an adequate supply
