An extension of Connecticut’s blue-blazed Metacomet Trail, the Metacomet-Monadnock (MM) Trail starts at the MA/CT State line at Rising Corners in Southwick, MA. Please note that official border crossing is on the property of a homeowner and can only be reached on foot. Please be respectful of this private residential property. For day and section hikers, please park at the Rising Corner Road parking area.
Extending north from Connecticut’s West Suffield Mountain, the MM Trail in this section passes through an open field and a swamp before regaining a trap rock ridge. In August 2016 volunteers and an AMC professional trail crew worked together to construct a 250-foot floating boardwalk, creating a more accessible path through the field and swamp. The trail passes through property owned by the Agawam Bowmen Archery Club on its way to MA 57 near the Southwick-Agawam town line.
