Description

This section of trail traverses the Broomstick Ledges, Northwoods and Bluff Head Preserve, over 500 acres of land protected by the Guilford Land Conservation Trust. Geologically unique, the Bluff Head summit is an exposed ridge with unparalleled views. Highlights of this section include the rugged Broomstick Ledges (made up of gray schist which was originally sea bottom), the open summit of Mount Pisgah with excellent views of Coginchaug Valley, Mica Ledges, the Selectmen’s Stones, and a huge boulder called “The Pyramid.”
